About of Project:

The Project aims to enhance the capacity of civil society to engage in economic policymaking in Ukraine. It centers on the Public Initiative established by the IER in 2018. The Initiative is an informal network of CSOs from different regions of Ukraine that care about the improvement of the business climate.  Activities of Initiative aim at monitoring the implementation of customs reform and promoting dialogue between the authorities, business, and other stakeholders in implementing the institutional reform of the customs in line with good governance and free trade principles.

Specific objectives: THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTION is to enhance the capacity of civil society to engage in economic policy making in Ukraine.   SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: ·        Strengthen civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs” ·        Facilitate policy dialogue between civil society and public authorities aimed at implementation of customs reform
   
Target groups: Participants in the Initiative, business associations, business, national, regional and local government, other non-government organizations.
Final beneficiaries: Government, business, NGO, population
Estimated results: Impact: enhanced capacity of the civil society to engage in economic policy making in Ukraine through CSOs networking by promoting activities of civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs” (IFTC). Outcomes: ·        strengthened civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs”; ·        intensified policy dialogue between civil society and the state on customs reform matters.
Main activities: The Working Packages are as follows: 1.      WP1: Operational support of the civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs (IFTC)”. 2.      WP2: Analytical support of the civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs”. 3.      WP3: Facilitation of public dialogue and advocacy campaigns of the civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs” (support of public events, advocacy campaigns); 4.      WP4: Institutional and analytical capacity development of the civil society initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs” members (trainings, sub-grants to the member). 5.      WP5: Action administration.
Duration of the project:   36 months from January 1, 2020.     The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union, the International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) and Atlas Network
